Job Description
We’re seeking an experienced ERP Payroll Implementer to lead payroll implementation and optimisation projects across Australian organisations. You’ll work with clients to design compliant payroll solutions, configure and integrate systems, manage data migration, and support go-live and hypercare.
Key responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end payroll implementations: client specification requirements, solution design, configuration, training, testing, go-live, and post-implementation support.
Payroll compliance and award interpretation (award and EBA interpretation): ensure solutions align with Australian payroll legislation and common award conditions (penalties, allowances, overtime, leave, super).
Process mapping and optimisation: document current state, propose future state, and implement scalable payroll and time/attendance processes.
System configuration: set up pay items/pay categories, leave, super, Government compliance settings, pay cycles, employee/position structures, time sheet award interpretation, Financial reporting Payroll reconciliation, and security roles.
Integrations: design and validate integrations between payroll and ERP/finance/HRIS/time & attendance systems (API/file-based), including GL mapping and costing.
Data migration: cleanse, transform, import, reconcile and validate employee master data and payroll history where required.
Testing and cutover: develop test plans, run UAT, manage defect resolution, execute cutover schedule, parallel pay runs, and reconciliation.
Client enablement: deliver training, create user guides, and build client capability for BAU support.
Continuous improvement: identify opportunities for automation, improved controls, and better payroll governance.
Desired Skills and Experience
What you’ll bring (essential):
Demonstrated experience implementing payroll systems in Australia (ideally multiple end-to-end implementations).
Strong understanding of Australian payroll compliance, including STP, Awards/EBAs, superannuation, leave entitlements, and state and Federal Requirements.
Experience with requirements gathering, process design, configuration, testing , training and go-live support.
Proven capability in data migration, reconciliation and payroll accuracy validation.
Strong stakeholder management and client-facing consulting skills.
Excellent documentation skills (process maps, configuration workbooks, -Project management, and training materials).
Comfortable working across multiple client environments, priorities and delivery methodologies (agile/hybrid/waterfall).
Unicorn / highly desirable experience:
Implementation experience in Employment Hero Payroll and HR
Experience with MYOB Acumatica (ERP finance, GL posting, costing structures, approvals/workflows, reporting) and/or payroll integrations into Acumatica.
Experience integrating payroll with time & attendance, rostering, HRIS, or BI platforms.
Knowledge of implementation accelerators (templates, scripts, validation packs) and building reusable delivery assets.
